How Can You Get Spirit to Help You?
What can you do if something blocks the path to the miracle you are praying for?
We're not meant to go through this life all on our own. From the moment we're born, we're connected to something far greater than ourselves. You might call it God, higher consciousness, your higher self, angels, or Spirit Guides. Whatever name you use, it's all pointing to the same incredible source of divine wisdom and support. This connection holds limitless healing, empowerment, and insight, far more than we often realize or remember to use.
Personally, I call this energy Spirit Guides. That term works beautifully for me. I've learned a lot from them over the years, including their limits and strengths. One of the most loving and consistent things they offer is protection. But here's the key: Spirit can only help when we ask.
I ask my Spirit Guides for protection all the time. I ask to be safe from harm in every way: physically, emotionally, mentally, and energetically, whether I'm asleep or awake, no matter where I am. If I feel even the slightest worry about a situation, I ask again. And I keep asking until I feel secure. It's really that simple. They're always willing, always present, always ready. But their help hinges on our invitation.
That said, there is one thing Spirit cannot protect us from, and that is ourselves.
We can ask to be safe while driving, but if we refuse to wear a seatbelt, we put ourselves at risk. We can ask for protection from intruders, but if we don't lock our doors, we leave ourselves exposed. Spirit can only work with what we ask and what we do for ourselves. The more we take care of ourselves, the more easily Spirit can care for us, too.
The above examples show why folks who say they trust God is protecting them, then decide to walk across a freeway to prove it, rarely have success. Don't test Spirit by sacrificing your personal power over your own safety.
This principle expands far beyond simple things. Yes, Spirit can do miraculous things. They can heal, uplift, empower, and even intervene in ways we might never imagine. Our willingness to act for ourselves directly determines their ability to act. If we refuse to take part in our own safety or healing, we essentially tie their hands.
Taking care of ourselves is not just practical, it's spiritual.
For many women, especially, putting ourselves first feels foreign, even selfish. But in truth, every time we prioritize our well-being, it's as if another angel gets their wings. Spirit celebrates when we love ourselves, because they already love us so deeply.
They think of each one of us as the most important person in the universe. Imagine Jesus stepping into your life and saying, "You are number one. I'm here for you." Imagine the Buddha looking right into your soul and saying, "You are my focus. I’m here to help make your life beautiful."
That's not fantasy. That's exactly how our guides operate. They are the highest form of consciousness available to us. There's no higher wisdom, no greater love, no deeper truth than the energy they embody. And they choose you. You are their priority. But when you neglect your own needs, you make it harder for them to show up fully. When you care for yourself, you open the floodgates for their help to pour in.
White Eagle, my spirit guide, taught me a valuable lesson: asking for protection isn't enough; you must also take precautions. That's the core of our relationship with them. Spirit works with us, not for us. It's a partnership.
They can only meet us where we're willing to meet ourselves.
It's the same reason that prayer without action often leads nowhere. If we're praying for healing but ignoring nudges to go to the doctor, we're closing the door that Spirit just opened. We might say we want healing, but then turn away from the help that's being sent. It doesn't mean Spirit won't keep trying. They will always offer the easiest path forward. Whether it's a nudge to take medicine, get vaccinated, see a healer, or rest your body, it all matters.
Spirit is constantly guiding us. They're gently leading us toward the very healing, growth, and miracles we're asking for. But we have to take steps ourselves. If we ignore those intuitive nudges and don't follow through, we end up missing out on the support that's already in motion.
So, if you're asking for change, be ready to act. If you're praying for help, stay open to receiving it in unexpected ways. And if you want to be protected, don't forget to do your part. Spirit is always with you. The magic happens when you show up, too.
